    I love gesture poses!

Usually if it’s a gig where they do only a few of them as a warm-up, I’ll think about them ahead of time. Like if they only have me do five, 1-minute gestures, I like to think about them ahead of time, just so I know I’ll have poses so everyone in the room has a chance to draw my front, back, sides, etc. and that I’m giving everyone something really dynamic.

I’ve worked other gigs where either a good portion of the session is gestures, or they’re *all* gestures. In cases like these, I’ll think of a handful at the beginning just to get me going. From there, I find that inspiration takes hold and each new pose just comes to me.
